A small piece of the Design Engineers Club made physical: the DEC mark turned into a 3D-printed illuminated desk object.
From screen to object
The logo was designed as a physical build rather than a flat print: a matte-black body carries separate light-colored front elements for the crescent, star, center bars, and C. The result keeps the graphic identity recognizable while giving it depth, material texture, and a warm illuminated presence on a desk.
Prototype
The first version was produced on a desktop FDM printer and assembled as a real working artifact. The visible layer texture is part of what makes it interesting — it feels less like manufactured merchandise and more like something made inside the club.This is the first entry in the DEC Artifacts collection: physical experiments, objects, prototypes, and small pieces of the world around Design Engineers Club.
